The junior residence lies on the edge of the historic city center, and is surrounded by orchards and small private gardens. It has its own grilling area as well as an outdoor open area for playing basketball and soccer. Although the building is quietly situated, the city center is not far away: it can be reached on foot in less than a half hour and by bus in as little as 10 minutes. The two- and four-bed rooms are all equipped with their own private bathrooms, which are cleaned daily. The hand towels are exchanged every four days at no cost to participants. Also included in the course price is unlimited free Wi-Fi Internet. Ping-pong, foosball as well as a billiard table are available for use during participantsÔÇÖ free time.

Weimar serves as an important cornerstone in German history: The first republic was founded in the city and historical giants such as Goethe, Herder, and Schiller, who characterized the literary and cultural movement known as the Weimar Classicism, still leave their mark on todayÔÇÖs university city of 63,000 inhabitants. The unique architecture, combined with its beautiful parks and natural landscape, led to its declaration as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. However, the dark side of German history can also be experienced by course participants if they choose to visit the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial.
